Noble Outfitters Ringside Backpack Review

Show season is just around the corner, and I couldn’t be more excited. Competing on my own horse as well as catch riding for a local trainer keeps me on my toes and gives me plenty of time in the saddle.

The Noble Outfitters Ringside Backpack always makes my equestrian competition season go smoothly, helping me keep everything I need within easy reach.

As a junior rider, I used to compete nearly every weekend of the summer. My wardrobe was extensive, and I often changed my clothing for just about every class! Now that I have to do my own laundry (thanks Mom!) and have children of my own, I no longer need to bring several garment bags to every show.

I now pack up my Ringside Backpack with everything that I need for a day at the horse show. The backpack’s large pocket holds my breeches, show shirt, and jacket, as well as a change of clothes and a baseball cap for after classes are over. My spurs, hairnets, and gloves slip safely into one of the smaller pockets, while I use one of the additional front pockets for a hair brush, deodorant, and other toiletries.

Occasionally at horse shows, I get so busy that I literally forget to eat or drink. I make it a point to fill up my YETI Rambler Bottle with ice water in the morning to help me remember to stay hydrated. It easily slides into its own pocket surrounded by a generous ration of granola bars and trail mix to keep me fueled throughout the day.

While other backpacks nearly burst when cramming a helmet inside, the exterior pocket of this backpack comfortably and safely secures my helmet in transit, while the mesh sides give it increased ventilation – perfect after nerve-wracking competition rides in the hot summer sun.

Another great feature of this backpack is the designated pocket made specifically for whips and crops. Previously, I lost a number of crops on horse show days because I didn’t have a great way to keep track of them. This bag was clearly designed by equestrians!

This bag is as durable as it is functional; mine has lasted through numerous competition seasons and shows no signs of stopping. One caveat is that the manufacturer does not suggest machine washing this bag, which is less than ideal after a long day at a dusty horse show. However, wiping it down with a damp cloth and hanging it to dry has kept my bag relatively clean and horse hair-free.

Like every other equestrian I’ve ever met, I love shopping for my horse and my riding pursuits. My search for a durable and functional backpack for horse shows, however, is over! The Noble Outfitters Ringside Backpack has earned a permanent spot in my must-have list for horse shows.
