A few months ago, I found myself in need of a new pair of rugged winter boots. After nearly nine years of faithful service, my muck boots had finally worn out and it was time to treat myself to a new pair! Initially, I wondered how I could ever choose, as we have so many great models and styles from excellent brands in stock at The Cheshire Horse.
The various models that I have owned over the years have generally performed well, but I wanted to explore what other options were on the market now. The Dryshod boots caught my eye, so I was interested to see how they felt and fit. Once I tried on the Dryshod Arctic Storm Women’s Winter Boot, I could immediately feel a different level of comfort – a definite upgrade to the fit of my old boots.
The boots are supportive around the foot with good arch support, yet feel springy and lightweight. I joke that they feel like walking around on a cloud–which is saying something for a heavy-duty, waterproof boot! The flexible rubber outer material easily conforms to my ankle without creasing, and the extreme tread makes it a breeze to trudge through the snow and the mud.
After bringing these boots home, I found myself slipping them on whenever I took my dog for a walk, ventured outdoors with my children, and even to run errands around town when it was cold out. They truly are that comfortable! I am someone who tends to get cold feet very easily, but I have yet to notice my feet bothering me when wearing these boots.
Not only are they warm in the outdoor winter weather, but they are very breathable and regulate your foot temperature well. I often come home and wear them around the house for a while as I unpack groceries, put in laundry, or cook meals. My feet stay completely comfortable the entire time and do not overheat.
The breathability of these boots, combined with their warmth, is truly remarkable. The air temperature could be below zero, or it could be 70 degrees, but inside the boot the temperature remains consistently comfortable. It is easy to wear them in a heated house or office if you want to give your feet some extra support while standing.
I highly recommend the Dryshod Arctic Storm Women’s Winter Boot. In addition to my personal experience, the Dryshod Company also has a long history in the footwear industry, being an original innovator of waterproof boot technology. I can assure you that this is an investment that you will appreciate for years to come.
