Total Saddle Fit Shoulder Relief Western Cinch Review

The Total Saddle Fit Shoulder Relief Western Cinch is by far my favorite cinch I have used on any of my horses. It is shaped ergonomically to fit your horse’s natural girth groove, which I have found to improve saddle fit, stability, and ridability.  Most horses also feel more comfortable when wearing this cinch, being able to move more freely through their back and shoulders.

"I have found the Total Saddle Fit Shoulder Relief Western Cinch to be a game changer for my horses that I ride and train. It allows me to focus more on my ride and less on keeping my saddle centered and properly positioned."

The set back shaping of the cinch keeps the girth in its correct spot just behind the forelegs under the barrel, while swooping back to encourage your saddle to sit back behind the horse’s shoulders rather than directly on top of them. This also allows for more comfort and room behind the elbow, a classic spot for horses to get rubs and girth galls when sweating. I have never experienced elbow rubs or chafing when using this girth.

The Total Saddle Fit Cinch allows for three different removable liners that attach with heavy-duty velcro, in fleece, neoprene, and felt. I prefer the neoprene liner due to the ease of disinfecting and its added non-slip properties. This versatile leather cinch also comes in black or brown, allowing you to match any western saddle. This product also has a great size range, with sizes from 24” to 34” so you can fit every horse from a pony to a draft horse.

Recently, I was forced to use a traditional cinch when I was riding because my Total Saddle Fit cinch was in my other vehicle. I immediately noticed that my saddle was much less stable and was apt to roll, making me feel like I needed to tighten it past what should be necessary. The horse I was riding also seemed to be less comfortable than normal and was not very fluid through his shoulder. Since that experience, I always make sure that my TSF Western Cinch is alway close at hand. Because it offers extra relief and space where some horses may not need it, this girth may not be necessary for every horse, but I have found I prefer it on the majority of horses that I ride.

Overall, I have found the Total Saddle Fit Shoulder Relief Western Cinch to be a game changer for my horses that I ride and train. It allows me to focus more on my ride and less on keeping my saddle centered and properly positioned. While I only have experience with the western cinches, Total Saddle Fit also manufactures girths for hunter/jumper and dressage riders. I recommend giving it a try and you have nothing to lose… this girth is backed by Total Saddle Fit’s 30-day guarantee!
