I was first introduced to Proviable DC after a yearlong battle with my cat's irritable bowel disease (IBD). Since 10 weeks of age, Sterling has had recurring flare-ups that have left him sick for days ""“ vomiting several times a day, lethargic, uncomfortable, weight loss, and often not eating at all when the episode was particularly bad. After a lot of trial-and-error, I finally discovered a raw diet that agreed with his special needs, and Sterling's condition dramatically improved. The symptoms quickly subsided but every few weeks he would have another flare-up and we would start this intense recovery cycle all over again. I knew he needed something else in his diet that would help him thrive rather than just maintain a relatively healthy state. Enter Proviable DC. I had tried multiple other brands of probiotics and they all made Sterling worse after a couple of days. They were either poor quality or they contained flavorings and proteins that contributed to the flare-up. I wish that I had known about Proviable earlier because it is hands down the best probiotic for my cat. It has no added flavorings or proteins so It's perfect for pets with allergies and sensitivities as well as for picky eaters. I have never worried about Sterling not eating because I topped his meal with Proviable he gobbles it up every time. I can't say the same for other brands that come in treat or powder form. It is also very easy to dose regardless of the animal's size. Just pop open a single capsule and sprinkle it on the food. Boom ""“ done! That one tiny capsule has seven strains of beneficial bacteria and a minimum of 5 billion live microorganisms. While I don't use Proviable every day, I always keep a box on hand in preparation for stressful events like a trip to the vet or if I know Sterling ate something he probably shouldn't have. It has been a little over a year since I first used Proviable and there has not been a significant IBD episode yet. I cannot recommend this product enough for any pet that is having intestinal problems or just needs a great supplement to maintain optimal health.

I chose to trial our puppy on Proviable Capsules for pets. Maddie is our 8 month old Mini Texas Heeler puppy. She is full of love and energy. She has a mischievous personality at times and loves to eat things she should not. She is also rough on her toys and if something isn't strong enough she will eat pieces of it. Removing any arms, ears, eyeballs, stuffing, rope and even rubber is her favorite task for a new toy! There were several instances where we had to bring her to the vet after she ate pieces of a toy and fell ill. She was always able to pass it with the help of medications, but what a project that was! One time when we were talking to our veterinarian I asked him about using the NutraMax Proviable capsules for her following the passing of the foreign objects she had consumed. He raved about it and said they would be extremely beneficial since the passing of the objects was just the start of getting her digestive system back up to par. With all of the medications and injections needed it would likely strip a lot of the beneficial bacteria and microflora from her stomach. So he recommended using those daily afterwards for at least a couple weeks straight until she seemed regular again. We did just that! It helped get her stomach back into shape and her stool get normal faster. She was able to be completely normal just a few days off of her meds. She seemed happier too, no rumbly stomach. She could be herself again. I kept the remainder of what we didn't use and then I try to use them when she gets an upset stomach from eating grass, or a toy or anything she shouldn't basically! It makes it easier on her and seems to lessen the effect. The other times we find them helpful for are days at doggy daycare or boarding. She is so bonded to us that separation isn't easy when its for a long length of time. She tends to be constipated when there and then has diarrhea when we are home again. It has been a lifesaver for that as well. Just one capsule each day and it clears right up. I definitely will continue to get these and keep them on hand. They are palatable and easy to use, single foil packaging, small size. I can't say enough positive things about this product and I'm thankful that we were able to try it for little Maddie.
