Care Instructions

• The Golden Rule: Less is more
  • Boiled wool rarely needs to be washed. Often, simply hanging the garment out in the fresh air overnight is sufficient. The moisture in the night air helps the fibers regain their structure and neutralizes odors.
• How to Treat Stains Correctly
  • Before reaching for the washing machine, try treating it locally:
    • Dry dirt: Simply allow sand or mud to dry completely and then carefully brush it out with a soft scrub brush or a clothes brush.
    • Fresh stains: Gently dab with a damp cloth and a little cold water (do not rub, otherwise the wool will felt).
• If it absolutely has to be put in the laundry
  • If washing is unavoidable (e.g., due to heavy soiling or after a season), follow these steps:
  • Hand wash (recommended)
    • Lukewarm water: Maximum 30°C. Water that is too hot will cause the wool to shrink.
    • Wool detergent: Use a wool detergent with added lanolin.
    • Do not soak: Just give it a quick rinse, do not leave it for long.
    • Rinsing: Rinse with water of the same temperature. Temperature differences ("cold shock") cause matting.
  • Washing machine (at your own risk)
    • Only if your machine has a very reliable wool wash cycle:
    • Set the temperature to "Cold" or 20°C to avoid water temperature differences.
    • Reduce the spin speed to a maximum of 400 revolutions.
