We carry a large selection of English stirrup leathers to help you stay secure and balanced in the saddle. Attached to the stirrup bars of your saddle, the leathers suspend your stirrups and keep them properly positioned for the duration of your ride.

At The Cheshire Horse, we have stirrup leathers for every rider and budget. From the luxurious leathers from Bates Saddlery to the budget-friendly stirrup leathers from Gatsby and Tory Leather, we can help you find the perfect pair of stirrup leathers for you.

To eliminate the chance of your stirrup leathers stretching, some of the leathers that we carry are nylon lined. This ensures that the leathers will hold their shape and you will always know what hole you should ride on.

The length of the stirrup leathers that you need will depend on the discipline that you ride and the length of your leg. Traditionally, average adult hunter/jumper riders ride in a 54" leather, with tall riders purchasing 56" leathers and petite riders looking at 48"-52" leathers. Dressage riders ride with a longer stirrup and therefore need a longer stirrup leather. Adult dressage riders typically purchase 60" leathers, with shorter riders looking for 58" leathers. Dressage riders with a longer leg may find themselves more comfortable with a 62" or 64" pair of leathers.

Wide stirrup leathers are becoming increasingly popular among equestrians. The wide leather stabilizes the rider's leg and allows the rider to increase their balance in the saddle. Available in both hunter/jumper and dressage styles, the Total Saddle Fit Jump Stability Stirrup Leathers and the Total Saddle Fit Dressage Stability Stirrup Leathers can assist you in steadying your leg during your ride.

In addition to our traditional leather stirrup leathers and non-stretch lined stirrup leathers, we also carry an assortment of synthetic stirrup leathers.

When tacking up your horse, it's a good idea to inspect your stirrup leathers for signs of wear, such as cracking or tearing, which would signify that your leathers need to be replaced. If you are in the market for a new pair of stirrup leathers and would like assistance matching your saddle or selecting the proper length, we encourage you to speak with a member of our friendly and knowledgeable sales staff who have years of hands on experience with the products that we carry.
