SU-PER® Appetite helps to support a normal healthy appetite. It contains Vitamin B-1 in conjunction with other B-Complex vitamins, N-Propyl Alcohol, and Acetic Acid, in a cherry-flavored liquid. It is added directly to the feed to help support a healthy appetite without the use of stimulants. Vitamin B-1 can help increase appetite, especially if the horse is deficient in this vitamin. Deficiencies can be a result of poor quality forages, increased needs of the performance horse, or those with poor digestive health. In addition to Thiamine, other B-complex vitamins such as Vitamin B-12 can help increase appetite. Also, it is often necessary for other B-complex vitamins to be present in sufficient amounts for the body to properly utilize these appetite boosting nutrients. SU-PER® Appetite has a very small amount of alcohol included. It is certainly not enough to have a detrimental effect on the horse and works to send signals in the brain of slightly increased hunger. For horses with poor appetite, this often is enough to overcome pickiness or stress-related issues. If you try SU-PER® Appetite and your horse’s appetite does not return to normal, you may be dealing with underlying health issues, such as gastric ulcers, dental or gum issues, abrasions in the esophagus, or sore throat from rough, stalky forages.
