HOW DOES IT WORK?
- Buffers Gastric Acid: Antacids stabilize (buffer) stomach pH to help reduce irritation to the stomach lining.
- Coats Stomach Lining: Pectin forms a gel-like layer over the stomach to help to support the lining against the corrosive effects of gastric acid.
- Supports Healthy Stomach Lining: Lecithin is a phospholipid that improves the integrity of the epithelial cells to help maintain a healthy stomach lining.
- Supports Hindgut Health: Levucell SC® active dry yeast probiotic helps reduce lactic acid in the hindgut (stabilizes pH) and stimulates the growth and activity of beneficial bacteria.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Give 1.8oz (50g) per 220lb (100kg) of bodyweight daily. The daily requirement for a 1102lb (500kg) horse is 8.8oz (250g). For best results, divide amount equally to give twice daily. It is recommended to supplement with PROTEK GI for at least 6 weeks, but it is also safe for the long term. Introduce PROTEK GI gradually over a period of 7 to 10 days.

I think this product is making a big difference in how my horse is feeling. I only wish the product was not so dusty. I do wet it down just before feeding it.

I am not a vet. My horse's ulcers have been cleared. She was scoped 3 times. Gastrogard is $40 a day for about 50 days for her to go through the treatment. Protek GI I observe, is keeping her comfortable. It is expensive . Life is stressful for horses in small suburban areas. We are on 6 acres. I want to keep her ulcer free and I believe it makes her more comfortable. I use slow feed hay bags and monitor her weight too. I will keep using it as long as I observe it helping.
