Unlike typical grazing muzzles which are hard and cumbersome, the Thinline Flexible Filly Slow Feed Grazing Muzzle is a soft and flexible slow-feeding muzzle that is comfortable for your horse. Made from pliable rubber, it is well-ventilated and allows your horse to breathe and drink normally. The innovative design does not rub on your horse’s face, preventing uncomfortable sores from developing. Additionally, this muzzle has the added benefit of being a bite-deterrent, making it difficult for aggressive horses to bite others through the muzzle and also preventing horses from cribbing or fence chewing while wearing it.

  • So light they won’t even know they are wearing it.
  • UV Protection for sensitive noses.
  • Adjustable Grazing Hole Size.
  • Each muzzle comes with 12 zip ties.
  • Use with any halter or add our specially designed halter for an easy and perfect fit.
  • Durability Guarantee (6-month full replacement warranty).

Available in three sizes: Mini (Miniature to Pony), Small (Cob to Horse), and Large (Oversized to Draft). For best results, pair the Thinline Flexible Filly Slow Feed Grazing Muzzle with the ThinLine Grazing Muzzle Turnout Halter, which has hooks placed specifically for easy and secure attachment of the muzzle. The muzzle comes with zip ties but you can find replacements zip ties here

Order by your horse’s halter size.

The Flexible Filly equine grazing muzzle hole size is, you guessed it, flexible!

  • The good news is that the Flexible Filly grazing muzzle’s limited hole size can be easily altered by horse owners for the perfect grazing opening.  ThinLine now offers muzzles with a 2+ cm hole.  To create a larger hole simply mark your muzzle with a pen and use a pair of scissors to cut the size you need.
  • Because every horses’ needs are different ThinLine offers a fully customizable grazing hole for your equine muzzle.  It is easy to have extraordinary comfort for your horse and the perfect grazing hole size for all metabolic and environmental issues.
  • The muzzle is ideal for slowing down speedy eaters, limiting grazing, and can help curb minor cribbing problems. The muzzle can also keep horses from chewing on leg wraps, wood, or blankets. It works extremely well with all automatic waterers and has UV protection, much like sunscreen for those delicate noses.

Quick Fitting Tips

  • With the horse’s head in the upright position do not be alarmed if it touches the lips. Keep in mind horses spend most of their time with heads at ground level. This makes more room in the muzzle.
  • If your horse is attempting to eat out of the sides, this generally means they are not able to get grass through the center hole.  The size of the center grazing hole needs to work with other variables such as the height and thickness of the grazing grass.  We provide the smallest of grazing holes with the ability to enlarge it. Just look to see if you might need to enlarge the hole.

If the problem persists, check the horse’s fit in grazing position.

a) Lower your halter and make sure your muzzle is not on the top hole, the more “leggy” the fins are the easier it is for them to try to eat out of the sides.  Raise the entire muzzle up several holes.  If this does not work you might need a smaller muzzle.

b) Make sure the fins between the front (or back) fin and the side (attached to the square ring) are evenly spaced.  If you have the fins neighboring the center front or center rear too close to the center one the horse will be able to eat out of the sides rather than the grazing hole.

The closer you fit the muzzle to your horses’ lips the less likely it is they will step on the muzzle and tear it.

Wear at the grazing hole:  Some horses use this muzzle for years without wear, some wear the grazing hole in a few months.  It will depend on how aggressive your horse is with its teeth.  One of the great features of this muzzle is that it does not damage teeth.  If we make the muzzle more durable we will lose that.  If you experience some wear at the grazing hole just keep an eye on it. When the hole becomes too large, over about 4-5 cm, you will need to purchase a new muzzle.

Second time we bought these , our drafts are in them 24/7 just about. Much more comfortable than the old style and horses can breath better with them.. Thought they would destroy them , but they have not . Perhaps because they are more comfortable to wear

Shipping was fast. Item was soft/pliable and somewhat easy to adjust onto a halter. Much lighter in weight than prior black rubber/nylon muzzles. Despite Arabs being known for their intelligence....mine simply panics while wearing this, despite slow introduction. Panting/sweating/agitation. He also has not figured out how it works. Our grass is short (spring) so may work better in a lush field. Another horse in herd also attacks mine when he is wearing it (but doesn't attack when it's off) It's a nice product but not working out for my horse.

I liked the idea of the flexible filly slow feed grazing muzzle. It looked more breathable and comfortable which is why I decided to spend a little extra money to purchase this particular muzzle. Two of my therapeutic riding horses are having trouble with the summer grass. The vet said they needed to be in grazing muzzles right away! Unfortunately within minutes these two horses figured out how to maneuver it to eat out of the side openings. I tried adjusting the fit, but this did not fix the problem. I am disappointed they did not work for my situation and hate that I went ahead and order two of them instead of giving one a try.

My insulin resistant mare can be part of the herd again thanks to this muzzle. As opposed to the ""darth vader"" black horse muzzles, she can breathe easily in the summer heat, and doesn't mind the muzzle.

After trying another muzzle that was heavy- hard for horse to breath & graze. Confining & horse hating it! Pawing - ripping it off etc. This muzzle is almost custom fit - light - airy - breathable- flexible- I think my horses almost likes it !!!!!! I thought he would need to be moved to a dry lot.
